Two processes.
One weld.
Better results.
Independent engineering support to select, qualify and optimize the right welding process for your production — and to implement hybrid welding where it pays off.
Engineering decisions that show up on the shop floor
We work alongside your production, quality and engineering teams to turn welding from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage.
Process selection
The right process, consumables and equipment for your joints, materials, volumes and quality targets.
Procedures & qualification
WPS, PQR and welder qualification support aligned with ISO, AWS and ASME requirements.
Productivity & cost
Parameter optimization, fewer passes, less rework and less distortion — measured, not promised.
Training & transfer
Hands-on training for operators and engineers, so the results stay after we leave.
Combine the strengths of two processes in one weld pool
Hybrid welding runs two heat sources together in the same pool. One brings deep penetration and speed; the other brings gap tolerance, filler metal and metallurgical control. The result can be fewer passes, higher travel speed and less heat input than either process alone.
We assess whether hybrid welding fits your application, run trials, specify the equipment and integrate it into production — from feasibility study to qualified procedure.
Laser + MIG/MAG
Laser keyhole for deep, narrow penetration combined with a GMAW arc for gap bridging and filler addition.
- Thick sections in fewer passes
- High travel speed, low distortion
- Shipbuilding, pipelines, heavy structures
Plasma + MIG
A constricted plasma arc leads or surrounds the MIG arc to increase penetration and stabilize metal transfer.
- Lower capital cost than laser systems
- Good tolerance to fit-up variation
- Pressure vessels, tanks, heavy equipment
TIG + MIG
A GTAW arc preheats and shapes the pool while the GMAW arc deposits metal, improving wetting and bead profile.
- Smoother bead, fewer defects
- Higher deposition with controlled heat
- Stainless, aluminum and cladding work
Typical ranges reported for hybrid processes compared with conventional arc welding. Actual gains depend on material, thickness and joint design — we quantify them for your case during trials.
Expertise across every major welding process
Hybrid welding is our focus, not our limit. We support conventional processes from troubleshooting to full production setup.
MIG/MAG
Transfer modes, shielding gas, pulsed and advanced waveforms, robotic cells.
TIG
High-quality root passes, stainless and non-ferrous alloys, orbital and hot-wire TIG.
Stick electrode
Field and repair welding, electrode selection, hydrogen control.
Flux-cored
Gas-shielded and self-shielded wires for structural and out-of-position work.
Submerged arc
Single, tandem and multi-wire setups for high-deposition thick-plate welding.
Plasma arc
Keyhole plasma welding for square-butt joints with full penetration.
Laser
Fiber laser welding, beam delivery, fixturing and process windows.
Automation & robotics
Mechanized and robotic welding, seam tracking and monitoring.
From first assessment to stable production
Assess
We review your joints, materials, standards, equipment and current costs to find where welding limits you.
Trial
We design and run welding trials, comparing processes on data: speed, quality, consumption and cost per meter.
Implement
We specify equipment, write and qualify procedures and support commissioning on your line.
Train & support
We train your team and stay available to keep the process stable and improving.
Built for demanding industrial welding
Independent welding engineering, wherever you build
HybridWeld is a welding consultancy led by experienced welding engineers. We are not tied to any equipment or consumables brand, so our recommendations follow your requirements — not a sales target.
We work with manufacturers internationally, remotely and on site, in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
- Vendor-independent process and equipment recommendations
- Hands-on experience from laboratory trials to production lines
- Decisions backed by measured welding data and cost analysis
